How to connect to your treadmill

The Kinni app allows you to connect your Android or iOS device to your treadmill using Bluetooth.

This enables the Kinni app to record your sessions, and provide you detailed insights into your exercise.

Connecting to the treadmill also enables the Kinni app to control the machine, so that you can run Workouts without needing to manually adjust the treadmill’s speed and incline.

To connect to your treadmill, follow these steps:

Step 1: Discover the treadmill

Open the Kinni app, and tap the “Run” tab.

Make sure you enable Bluetooth on your device. If Bluetooth is not available, or your device does not have Bluetooth capability, the app will show you a notice.

 On the Run tab, tap the Scan button.

This will attempt to connect to your treadmill (as well as any supported Bluetooth peripherals, like heart-rate monitors), and discover some basic information.

After a few seconds your treadmill should appear on the screen. Then, click Connect. 

Step 2: Connect to the treadmill

Tap the Connect button on the treadmill’s card.

This will attempt to establish a lasting Bluetooth connection with the treadmill.

If the connection is not made after a few seconds, just try connecting again. It may take a few attempts – especially if you’re in a space with lots of other WiFi or Bluetooth devices.

There are further tips in the app if you’re having trouble connecting.

Once you have connected to the treadmill, the app is ready to record your session. You can now tap the Ready button to continue.

You can also connect to supported Bluetooth heart-rate monitors from this screen!
